What is Ealing Children's Trust?
What is Ealing Children's Trust?
The national change programme Every Child Matters: Change for Children agenda (underpinned by the legislative framework the Children Act 2004 ) sets out the guidance for how all services and organisations should work together to improve the life chances of all children and young people from birth to age 19.
The government’s aim is for every child, whatever their background or their circumstances, to have the support they need to achieve the following five outcomes:
At a local level this places a duty on statutory services, to work together in an integrated way to achieve these outcomes through a Children’s Trust.
Ealing Children’s Trust is a partnership board of the Local Strategic Partnership, which is made up of the many organisations and agencies who deliver services to the children, young people and families of the borough.
Children’s Trusts have a central role in delivering and monitoring the vision for children, and young people as set out in the Children and Young People Plan, by setting local goals to improve outcomes, sharing budgets and championing children’s and young people’s interests.
The focus of the Trust is to promote better co-operation and
joint working between all services to deliver a
consistent and strategic approach to the planning, delivery and
improvement of services for the children, young people and families
of Ealing. It does this through working together to
ensure integrated governance, integrated strategy, integrated
processes and integrated services, as demonstated through

When did we become a Children’s Trust?
Since 2005 Ealing has been developing and working to Children’s Trust arrangements under the banner of ‘Ealing Change for Children Board’. In 2009 a decision was made by the Cabinet of the Council for Ealing to adopt Children’s Trust status in order to more effectively deliver the Every Child Matters agenda.
