Children and Young People's Plan

The Children and Young People's Plan (CYPP) is a three-year strategy required by the Children Act 2004 to cover local authority services for children, young people and their families and carers.

In 2006, Ealing developed it’s first ‘Children and Young People’s Plan 2006–2009’, prepared jointly by all the agencies involved in planning and delivering services to Ealing’s children and young people.

The CYPP sets out the vision for children and young people’s services in Ealing and highlights the key priorities to be developed over the next three years.

The plan was prepared in-line with Ealing Local Strategic Partnership’s Community Strategy – Success Through Diversity. The Community Strategy’s values of ‘success through partnership’ are central to the plan and to ensuring that every child and young person in Ealing can reach their full potential.

The plan has been developed based on an needs analysis, and extensive consultation with children, young people, parents and carers, staff and community groups.

The plan has since been updated on a yearly basis as a way of reviewing Ealing's progress and identifying achievements in delivering the new agenda for children’s services set out in the Children Act 2004 and the Every Child Matters framework.

The annual reviews of the Children and Young People Plan include an action plan delivery schedule and performance indicators to ensure that progress can be comprehensively monitored.
