A multi-million pound leisure facility in Northolt is taking shape now the swimming pools are being filled and tested as Ealing Council prepares for its grand opening in the New Year.
Northolt Leisure Centre replaces the decrepit Swimarama, in Eastcote Lane North, and is set to be a remarkable state-of-the-art facility for people to enjoy.
The old centre closed at the end of October 2007 and demolition began soon after. It is now just months away from being transformed into a bright and spacious new community facility.
The new centre will include:
Council Leader, Councillor Jason Stacey, said: “This is an
exciting development that is really taking shape now. Last time I
visited the site it was just a big, flat, open muddy space and in
just a short time the plans have come a long way. I’ve walked round
the building and can now start to picture it being used and filled
with people enjoying a wide range of activities.”
